Social Media Marketing Assistant

Social Media Marketing Assistant

Part-time – 15hrs per week
Remote working (UK-based only)
Salary – £14,000 per annum (open to contract or employment)

This role will support the Brand and Marketing lead and founder of @theguthealthdoctor, Dr Megan Rossi. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in social media, preferably in the health and wellbeing industry. 

As a small company, you must be happy to cover a spectrum of responsibilities, from detail-oriented admin to liaising with high-profile contacts. A background in nutrition and some form of digital marketing experience (i.e. website and email campaign management) would be preferable. Ultimately, we seek a candidate with a solutions-focused attitude, good organisational skills and attention to detail, to join a passionate, science-led team on a mission to transform lives through gut health.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has a passion for social media
  • Wants to be at the forefront of nutritional science and health trends, and has a keen interest in this area

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting community engagement across The Gut Health Doctor channels, a community of over half a million people globally
  • Social media posting – Please note: This role includes social media posting on Saturday mornings (1–2 hours), and commitment to this is essential.
  • Trend monitoring – staying up to date on the latest social media trends 
  • Supporting the Brand and Marketing lead with ad-hoc projects 
  • Liaising with external contacts and providers 
  • Collating information and content into spreadsheets as needed
  • Organising the file-saving system (Google Drive)

Key qualities and skills needed:

  • At least 2 years of experience in social media  
  • A background in nutrition or a related science degree is preferable
  • Social media management skills, with a focus on community management across platforms such as Instagram and TikTok 
  • Experience with platforms such as MailChimp, WordPress, and Canva (or similar) 
  • Able to prioritise tasks, keep things moving, and communicate clearly with the team
  • Computer literate and reasonably tech savvy with robust MS Office/Google Workspace skills
  • Excellent judgement in terms of how to manage people and situations 
  • Acute attention to detail, especially with written words and logistics
  • Understand the importance of discretion and professionalism
  • Calm, reliable, organised and solutions-focused
  • Flexible, reactive and unfazed by ad-hoc requests
