Eight years ago, I went through a difficult life event that left my gut in absolute turmoil. I was already prone to constipation but it became so much worse. Eventually, I was diagnosed with food-related IBS, but looking back, I’m not sure that diagnosis was entirely accurate. Regardless, I tried everything to feel better. I went vegan, which helped for a while, but then I started feeling bad again and switched diets repeatedly, searching for something that would work.

Then, I heard Dr. Megan Rossi on a podcast and something resonated. I bought her book, Eat Yourself Healthy, and that’s when everything changed. I prioritised my gut health, incorporating a “microbe farm” of kefir, kombucha, homemade live yoghurt, sauerkraut, and kimchi, along with plenty of legumes. Dr. Rossi’s advice to focus on adding in plant groups really clicked for me, and it made all the difference.

Now, my gut is in top shape, and I feel better than I have in years. Thanks to Megan’s guidance, I’ve thrived through peri-menopause and into menopause by prioritising my gut health. I’m grateful every day for the transformation and would highly recommend her approach to anyone struggling with digestive health.
